Businesses from all over Hambleton are invited to attend the area’s largest annual networking event and hear from local MPs and business people about plans for the coming year.

Hambleton Strategic Business Forum takes place on on Friday May 13th at The Hawkhills in Easingwold and is expected to attract over 150 local businesses.

Kevin Hollinrake, MP for Thirsk, Malton and Filey will share his views on politics and the local economy as well as answering questions from local business owners.

Kevin started Hunters Estate Agents in 1992, which has grown to be one of the most successful estate agents in the UK with 140 branches nationwide.

Kevin will be joined by Richard Menage, chairman of International Textiles and Plastics. Richard set up his Easingwold-based business 26 years ago employing just three people. Now he has a team of 25 speaking seven languages, exports 25% of all sales and has the highest margins in its sector resulting in the same net profitability as competitors four times its size.

Thirsty Thursday’s Anna Addison, who also runs PR company Anna Addison Associates, is hosting the event for Hambleton District Council. Anna said: “This is a great opportunity to meet a host of Hambleton businesses of all sizes. We have a fascinating business landscape from micro-businesses to multi-nationals and I am looking forward to being part of this event when we can all come together under one roof to talk about how we can work together on very many opportunities.”
