Thirsty Thursday is back for October
Stokesley’s free networking event for local businesses returns next Thursday, October 22nd between 5-7pm.
‘Thirsty Thursday’ takes place at The Mill on Springfield in Stokesley every month, attracting around 50 businesses to each event.
Over the summer, Thirsty Thursday launched its new website http://www.thirstythursdaystokesley.co.uk/ thanks to a grant from ‘How’s Business’, an organisation funded by the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), one of 39 LEPs tasked by government to help the local economy to grow.
Stokesley business women, Anna Addison and Sue Thompson, launched the free, informal networking event last November and since then, over 150 businesses have taken part and have started to work together on various projects, both commercial and community-based.
The aim of the free get-togethers is to allow businesses to meet at a convenient location after work and discuss opportunities and share advice on everything from tax and payment issues to events, marketing and PR.
Anna said: “Since we launched our website we’ve certainly seen an increasing number of enquiries from businesses of all types. We get a real mix attending our events which is great- everything from sole traders working from home to large, commercial operations, local authorities and charities.
Sue added: “Next month we’ll mark our first anniversary and we have some exciting plans in the pipeline to thank people for their support. We hope we can go from strength to strength into 2016 and that organisations continue to benefit from what we offer.”
