A Stokesley businessman has secured one the UK’s most famous saxophonists to play a special one-off concert to raise funds for a village hall.

Graham Howard, who runs Howard’s bistro in Stokesley, has been a huge fan of Snake Davis for decades and contacted him to see if he would be willing to play at Kildale Village Hall to help raise money to support it.

Snake Davis, who has played all over the world with the likes of Sir Paul McCartney, M People, James Brown and Ray Charles, has agreed to hold the concert with the Colin Holt Band on Saturday 17th October at Kildale Village Hall with all proceeds going towards the fundraising efforts.

Around 100 tickets are available for the event and people can bring their own snacks, wine, beers and soft drinks. A fundraising raffle will also be held on the night.

Snake Davis and the Colin Holt Band will perform a combination of their original music and also pop and soul classics by the likes of John Lennon, Prince and M People.

Graham Howard said: “I’ve been a huge fan of Snake Davis for years and I’ve seen him and the Colin Holt Band perform many times- they’re phenomenal. I’ve been trying to organise an event to raise much needed funds for Kildale Village Hall for some time and I am over the moon that Snake has agreed to this one-off gig.”

Tickets are £10 and are available from Howard’s on College Square in Stokesley, Danby Health Food Shop on 01287 669200 or from Phil Udall 01642 711566.
