Plans to secure the future of Stokesley Library
Plans to develop Stokesley Library as a business resource as well as a community hub are currently being discussed by Stokesley Parish Council and members of the public are being invited to submit their opinions.
The Parish Council has set up a working party looking at possible future options for the library with one idea being that it could also provide drop-in business centre services complementing the existing free WiFi.
Parish Councillor, Stewart Brennan, said: “As many people will be aware, the future of local libraries could be in jeopardy because of cutbacks. However, we appreciate how very important it is as a resource, hub and meeting point for the local community so we are working on plans to secure its future to generate some income to cover its costs. We’d really appreciate any thoughts, ideas and feedback that anyone has.”
Some of the questions that the Parish Council would like assistance with are as follows: –
1. Is a drop in business centre with WiFi, individual booths, colour copying and printing A4 & A3, scanning etc likely to be of interest to you?
2. What facilities and/or services would you like to see and what would be useful to you?
3. If access and WiFi are free, what do you think reasonable charges are for the other services?
