Stokesley pub toasts national success

Congratulations to our host venue, The Mill, which has picked up a top award.

Alex Cook and the team have beaten off competition from over 1000 other pubs around the UK to win an important industry accolade.

The Mill, on Springfield in Stokesley, scooped the ‘Best Bar Staff’ award in a national event run by Heineken-owned Star Pubs and Bars.

Celebrity chef, Simon Rimmer, presented Alex with the award for his 29-strong team at the 5* Titanic Hotel in Liverpool at a gala celebration night. The Mill was praised for its attentive staff who create a fun atmosphere and are willing to go the extra mile to help one another.

Alex said: “I am just so, so proud of my team. They work so hard to make sure all our customers have a brilliant time when they join us. This is a fantastic award and I am thrilled.”

This latest award marks a hat trick of awards for Alex and his business partner, Simon Monaghan, who have this year also won ‘Best Newcomer’ and ‘Best Pub Partnership’ in the North and Scotland in the Great British Pub Awards.
