Stokesley Parish Council is currently installing an automated external defibrillator (AED) in the Town Hall and will be holding a special awareness session for members of the public interested in knowing more about how to use the equipment.

On Tuesday 26th April, Yorkshire Ambulance Service will be hosting the awareness session which will cover ‘Basic Life Support’ and ‘Use of an Automated External Defibrillator’.

An AED is a portable device that checks the heart rhythm and can send an electric shock to the heart to try to restore a normal rhythm. AEDs are used to treat sudden cardiac arrest, a condition in which the heart suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating, and can save lives

The awareness session takes place on Tuesday 26th April in the Town Hall from 7.30 pm.

If you would like to attend please contact Julie McLuckie, parish clerk, on 01642 710270 or clerk@stokesleypc.org.uk
